This preparatory year in health sciences is offered atUAXand at theUEM as well as at theUEV.
What academic studies can be prepared for?
The UAX organizes its preparatory courses to integrate its ranks in dentaland in medicine and in veterinary.
For the EMU, these are the courses in dental, medicine, physiotherapy or pharmacy.
For the VU, it is a question of preparing for dental, physiotherapy or pharmacy.
What are the disadvantages of these preparatory years?
The two major disadvantages are the one-year extension of the time spent in Spain and the additional cost to the student. The latter is not always a disadvantage because it is cheaper to finance a successful preparatory year than a year of study that must be paid for again in case of failure.
What are the advantages of these preparatory years?
They are numerous: the practice of several disciplines in the health sciences before committing to a course of study, adaptation to Spain before starting the actual studies, the essential levelling in Spanish (only at the UAX and UEV) with courses in Spanish, the possibility of validating ECTS (only at the UEM and UEV), only losing a year when you start too late for a project in the coming year, ...

How long do I have to apply?
Applications are usually made in June when it is no longer possible for a student to study in Spanish in order to reasonably follow a course of study in this language, when there are no more places in the university chosen by the student, when he or she is not admitted because of a weak file, when the student wants to give himself or herself time to reflect while remaining academically active, etc....
A preparatory year in health sciences followed with seriousness and application is the assurance that you have chosen the course of study that corresponds to you and that you will succeed.
