This administrative document is required to enroll in any university in Spain coming from a foreign educational system.
The credencial attests to the legality of access to Spanish universities for students who have obtained their previous exams in a non-Spanish educational system.
- Who issues the credencial?
The credencial is issued by an official organization, UNED, located in Madrid.
- Is there a fee for this administrative process?
Indeed, you will have to pay 115.45 euros (payable online on the UNED website) to validate your application.
- Do I have to travel to Madrid to get the credencial?
No, the procedures are done online on the UNED website and the documents are then sent by mail.
- Who can apply for a credencial?
Any student who already has the baccalaureate can apply. If you have not yet passed the baccalaureate you must wait until the end of June to begin your credencial application. You will send your documents by mail after the baccalaureate results.
- Do some universities make the credencial for students who enroll in them?
Yes, the UAX, does all the credencial procedures for students who enroll there. You give your documents to this university and they take care of everything.

- It takes a long time to get a credencial?
If you follow FEEDUC's instructions carefully, you'll receive an e-mail from UNED after 3 weeks.
This e-mail will indicate either that you have not sent the correct documents (you will have to send everything back) or that your credencial is available (you will just have to inform the university where you are registered and they will collect it directly from UNED).
- Any advice?
If you already have a bachelor's degree and are enrolled in a university in Spain, do not wait until July (twice as many applications and half as many staff during the summer at UNED) to apply.
For those who take the baccalaureate in June, don't panic: in our partner universities in Spain, the original credencial is only required for the first day of school...which, until September, still leaves you some time 😉
