Why insure your student housing?
Sometimes renters or real estate agencies tell you that you do not need to personally take out insurance on the apartment you are renting in Spain. The reason for this is that the owner is insured....
We will never give you this advice, why?
- Leave an iron on, for example, and unintentionally start a fire: the owner of the property and even the owners if it is a building will turn against you, backed by their own insurance company.
- Suffer water damage from the upstairs neighbor and you'll see that you'll be happy to find your insurer to handle the exchanges with the occupant of that dwelling and the insurance company of the landlord to whom you rent your apartment.
- Get robbed and you'll still be happy to find support from your insurer to buy back that computer you use every day for your studies.
- Etc....
Why insure your vehicle in Spain?
If you go to Spain with your car or your two-wheeler registered in France, you must remain insured in France. Ask your French insurer for information about: the coverage you have abroad, the constraints to which you are subject, the numbers to contact in case of breakdown or accident ....
If you prefer to buy a vehicle in Spain, it will be registered in Spain and you will have to insure it in Spain.
