Do you want to obtain an official level of Spanish but missed the DELE registration date? SIELE allows you to get a test date faster and have the result in less than a month.
What is the SIELE?
The SIELE (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española) is a Spanish language test.
How is it different from the DELE?
Unlike the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language), you do not present a level (A1 - A2 - B1 - B2 - C1 - C2) but you take tests open to all levels. The SIELE will indicate your level at the time of the exam and the result will be valid for 2 years.
How does the Spanish language test work?
You will be evaluated on your reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. The exam lasts about 3h30, divided into 1 hour for each skill, except for the oral part which lasts a little less than 30mn. This last part is based on different recordings.
Where and when does the exam take place?
You can usually take your exam within a few weeks of registering. The exam centers in France are in Paris (Institut Cervantes), Strasbourg, Lyon and Bordeaux. But the most frequent exam dates are in Paris.
How much does it cost to register with SIELE?
The SIELE Global exam costs 165€ and 155€ if you take it in Spain.
When will the result be?
At the latest 3 weeks after your exam, you will receive an e-mail informing you of the result. You will be able to download the certificate from the SIELE website.

Whether it is the SIELE or the DELE, having an official language certificate will always be a plus for the universities you apply to if you can demonstrate at least a B1 level.
It is also a way to set a goal and motivate you in your learning of the language.
