with our partner universities for your studies in Spain.

This is also the time of year when we have enough time to share with you the information we have received and/or given during the individual meetings that we organize as part of our study support in Spain.

A word of warning about some of the accompaniments for studies in Spain!

Many of you are currently contacting us to express your rage about certain organizations that have sold you courses in French-speaking countries.

They could tell you that your diplomas would be recognized in France. They were able to tell you that agreements were made for you to finish your studies in physical therapy in Spain and that your diploma would be recognized in other European countries...therefore, in France.

Since FEEDUC was founded, we have refused to take part in these programs. Their sole aim is to attract customers by selling them studies in French, and they couldn't care less about what happens to them once they're enrolled, how well they do in their studies, and even less about their future professional lives!

Ever since FEEDUC was set up, we've been warning certain Spanish universities who saw a financial bonanza in these agreements that couldn't possibly be legal! They realized this, too late. They went backwards, leaving the students who had made these choices and invested considerable sums of money for nothing!

Since FEEDUC was founded, we have been warning students and their families about the real risks involved in these programs.

There was an obvious risk of non-recognition of studies and internships by the authorization commissions for the practice of physiotherapy in France, for example, because of the non-recognition of studies in the country where the studies were begun!

To date, all the judgments handed down in Europe by the European and national courts in the regulated health sciences sector are in line with the principle that the place where the teaching is given is the place where the diploma is issued.

There was an obvious risk of non-recognition in Spain (by the official health authorities) of the years of study not carried out in the country, in physiotherapy for example, because not respecting the official Spanish study plan and thus a strong probability of non-issuance of the diploma once all the years of study were completed! Do you seriously think that the French health authorities would issue a French diploma to students who have studied in Morocco for example? No. Well, the Spanish health authorities wouldn't either!

A little "what a shame" L about students not studying in Spanish!

The feedback we have from universities and students who have made the choice (despite our advice to get up to speed in Spanish and study in Spain with courses in Spanish), is, as we feared from the beginning, mainly negative:

  • Students who do not have the necessary level of Spanish to access patients in internships (C1 level required in the health field). For example: 49/60 students from the1st cohort of physiotherapy in French will not be able to have their internships as planned in their study plans, veterinary students in French reoriented in dental in English after 2 years.
  • No integration in Spain: students live among themselves and some Spaniards (other students, professors, university staff, French students who study in Spanish, etc.) even feel despised.
  • Students on French courses (in physiotherapy) or English courses (in physiotherapy or dentistry) who will be obliged to prolong their studies (the time to have the level in Spanish to have access to the obligatory training courses) and will thus have even more expenses (of annual reservations of places, lodgings, Spanish courses, etc...).
  • These are difficult situations for the students themselves, their families, and the universities, which are forced to seek viable solutions within organizations that were unable or unwilling to anticipate such problems, despite our constant reminders to them on this subject.
  • Teachers' messages are often less effective and of lower quality because French or English is not their mother tongue, they have less mastery of the subtleties to give strength to their message and sometimes have an accent that makes their speech difficult to understand.

As we tell you over and over again in interviews: To study in Spain, prepare in Spanish!

This will only bring you positives:

  • you will pay less,
  • you will be less likely to be stuck in your studies,
  • you will have better quality courses, you will have more choices of universities,
  • you will better integrate into the country,
  • you will be more appreciated within the universities.

As we will also continue to tell you and repeat to you: If you want to study in Spain, prepare yourself before you leave because at some point (especially in the field of health sciences training) you will need to master Spanish!

This will also bring you only positive elements:

  • more choice of universities and therefore more choice of budget,
  • more likely to succeed in an admissions process,
  • access to the best programs at the best universities,
  • more likely to complete your studies within the normal time frame of the curriculum,
  • more chance of becoming a better professional by having taken advantage of all the teaching messages and not just by having validated subjects, etc...

Much satisfaction and even more hope for the future!

Feedback from the universities we've just visited is very positive about the overall quality of the work FEEDUC does on a daily basis. It is highly appreciated both for the advice we give to the universities themselves, and for the support we provide to students.

This is reflected in the quality of the students that we accompany to them:

  • Real improvement in the level of Spanish of our students from year to year (which proves that it is possible for all those who have a real motivation).
  • Improved academic performance due to better Spanish language skills.
  • Better integration and more respectful behavior from the French students. Some of them are not even identified as French anymore J
  • Better feedback from internship sites.

By continuing to seriously accompany French students in their plans to study in Spain, by continuing to advise them in the direction of their short and medium term interests, we will continue to lead them towards the success of their studies in Spain. We will not deviate from this objective, which is and will remain our daily goal at your side.

What is really important and interesting for a student in Spain, much more than an admission file, is to find a support organization that anticipates his future needs so that he can succeed in his future professional life.
