10 reasons to study in Spainin a non-healthcare field

Spain is a country of the European Union, which means that a French person can live, work and study there, even though it is not his/her country of birth. Going to study in Spain after the baccalaureate is therefore easier than going to study outside the EU.

Be careful, however, the baccalaureate is not automatically recognized in Spain, so you must apply to the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) to obtain the credencial de acceso, the equivalent of the baccalaureate in Spain.

It may seem obvious, but you must speak Spanish to study in Spain, unless you follow a 100% English-speaking program, which is common in business schools.

It is recommended that you have your language level certified by recognized organizations such as the Instituto Cervantes, in order to assure the host university of your ability to be autonomous in everyday life as well as in understanding the courses. B1 (independent) and B2 (experienced independent) levels are "must haves" in order to understand and follow the rhythm of the courses and study in Spain.

With excellent courses at universities that welcome thousands of foreign students every year, Spanish institutions offer internationally recognized disciplines and programs. It is thanks to this excellence and diversity that Spain has universities that are recognized worldwide.

In the fields of business, management and finance, the Escuela Superior de Administración y Gestión de Empresa (ESADE) in Barcelona, for example, is internationally recognized. The degrees it offers are among the most highly regarded in Europe and the world.

Other business schools are also highly rated in the areas of business and marketing such as ESIC in Madrid. However, business is not the only field that is valued. There are also architecture, engineering and tourism, among others.

Even when you return to France, the fact that you have completed a course of study abroad can be an asset for entering the job market. Being autonomous in a foreign country is a quality that can be transposed to the business world. Studying in Spain is one of the ways to ensure a better professional integration, even in France.

Studying in Spain is a unique time in a higher education program. Studying in Spain gives you the opportunity to discover another country, with its culture, customs and way of life.

Studying in Spain is one thing, living there is another. In order to serve this project, it is necessary to have a first experience of daily life in the country. Doing part or all of your studies in Spain allows you to discover another way of life and then confirm your career plans.

Autonomy, a taste for adventure and openness to the world, studying in Spain offers lessons that go beyond the university curriculum.

Certain fields such as journalism or tourism also recruit many foreign profiles. Spain is one of the world leaders in tourism, welcoming more than 80 million tourists each year, including many French tourists. Universities provide training in the tourism industry through a four-year degree program. These courses are offered by theEuropean University of the Canary Islands (UEC), the European University of Valencia (UEV) and the University of Nebrija in Madrid.

If you want to work in this field, you should have a good command of Spanish and be interested in languages in general, as contact with foreign clients is obviously essential.

Similarly, studying in Spain in the field of journalism, for example, can be an excellent way to become a professional. A very good level of language skills will be necessary. Universities such as UFV, La Nebrija or Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM) offer media training and are among the most reputable study paths in Spain in terms of education and employability.

Thanks to the demanding courses of study in architecture, in Gaudí's country, you can discover renowned training courses while perfecting your language skills.

In this same field, NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board) accredited licenses can be offered by Spanish universities and schools of architecture. These accreditations are recognized by American companies and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Engineering schools are not to be outdone, as they represent a significant portion of the foreign students in the Spanish educational system. Spanish engineering companies are also recognized worldwide for their expertise. Universities located in Madrid, Valencia and the rest of Spain allow thousands of students each year to participate in innovation and in the country's major infrastructure projects.

The rhythm of life in Spain is not the same as in France, so it is an opportunity to discover a different lifestyle, while remaining close to one's country of origin. Being able to study in Spain, with its rich culture and traditions, trains the mind to another way of life.

Latin America is at the center of many global issues, but can seem, especially in light of the current health situation, difficult to reach. With the exception of Brazil, all of the countries in South and Central America are within the reach of a student who has studied in Spain.

In the United States, Spanish is also the second most spoken language in the country, and it has a place in administrative documents and in the professional world, especially in the states bordering Mexico. The Spanish-speaking world is vast, and the first step to entering it may be to study in Spain.
