To study in Spain, the question of financing is essential and many students wonder about grants and scholarships.

  • We have made a summary of the aid available to study in Spanish universities that you will find in the in the "financing" section of our website .
  • You can consult them and have the details of the main aids available at each university.
  • In order to get a scholarship to study in Spain, you must have already gone through the admission process, been admitted and reserved your place. Only then will you submit your application for a scholarship.
  • Of course, you will need to provide a file within the requested timeframe and follow the processes.
  • It should be noted that sometimes these deadlines are not adapted to the French deadlines (for example, you are asked for your baccalaureate grades before you have passed it).

When you are an international student entering your first year, financial aid to study at a private university in Spain is few and far between.

  • Academic Criteria: Many private Spanish universities offer scholarships for the very best students. Your grades and academic record will be scrutinized for financial aid.
  • International Baccalaureate students: many private Spanish universities have agreements with the IB organization. A discount may be granted to these students. Please note: OIB or Bachibacs are not included. These are only students from the Anglo-Saxon educational system.
  • Social criterion: some Spanish universities will grant you financial aid based on social criteria. You will need to send proof of your family's income.
  • High-level athletes: scholarships are awarded to the best high-level athletes who compete nationally and often internationally. Please note, however, that scholarships are generally only awarded to Spaniards.
  • Studying in Spain requires an important investment.
  • Financial aid, even if you receive it, does not cover the full cost of tuition.
  • They do not cover the cost of reserving a place or the application fee.
  • Scholarships to study in Spain cover between 20% and 50% of tu ition fees depending on the university and the type of scholarship.
  • Exceptionally, some scholarships are higher, but this remains very rare.
  • No, applications for scholarships to study in Spain are reviewed every year.
  • Therefore, you should be particularly careful to have this information available when you leave to study in Spain.
  • If you are not eligible for scholarships in subsequent years, how will you fund the project? Once again, your academic performance will be taken into account most of the time.

To our knowledge, very few of the students we have accompanied have received scholarships from universities.

FEEDUC's opinion

Except in exceptional cases, you will probably not have access to the scholarships available at Spanish universities.
The academic criteria (the main criterion for obtaining a scholarship) are not adapted to the French grading system, which is much harder than the Spanish one.
It is therefore important to prepare this part of the project well by looking for financing that will allow you to study for 4 or 5 years in Spain without any problems.
This often involves self-financing and bank loans. The latter do not usually cover the entire cost of your studies.
You can consult our partner CIC Iberbanco on this subject.
You will find their contact information on the Financing" page of our website.
