We meet, on the choice made by some French students

to follow their health science training in Spain, any opinion!

There is a whole range of opinions about studying in Spain. Some of them are so virulent that they are suspicious. Others show such commercial energy that one can only doubt.
Wouldn't the measure on the subject be closer to reality?

If you come across a conversation about studying in Spain on a forum, you will quickly realize that the subject is very passionate.

On the one hand, we can read about students who study in Spain that they :

  • "wish to avoid work"
  • "are daddy's boys who buy their degrees"
  • "lazy people who don't want to work
  • "cheaters who do not want to submit to the selection".
  • ...

On the other hand, we can also read that the formations in Spain are :

  • "smoke and mirrors".
  • "of a lousy quality".
  • "a commercial scam"
  • "nests of cheaters dangerous for future patients"
  • ...

On the other hand, some present university health science curricula as :

  • "without selection".
  • "hyper easy"
  • "just a file to fill out"
  • "not even worth speaking Spanish"
  • ...

In addition, some of the advertising arguments of universities or certain university agents state:

  • "European diplomas
  • "fill in quickly and send your application you will have a place".
  • "send your application quickly, I'll help you for free and you can even get scholarships".
  • "fill in, sign, pay and you're a dentist, physio, vet or pharmacist.... "
  • ...

Let's try to re-establish today some truths on the subject because none of the above assertions has any other meaning than the one that the manipulator who hides behind a pseudo on a forum wants to give to it (from the fervent defender of the national cause persecuted and sure of his fact to the unscrupulous commercial able to affirm of a university that it is the best in Europe whereas it is just in the 5 best of Spain on a single course of study...).

  • YES, there are excellent health science programs in Spain that train professionals who are fully capable of caring for patients (even French ones!).
  • NO, not all private schools offer the same level of quality.
  • YES you will not be subject to a competition.
  • NO it is not easy to get into quality universities (even private ones!) that provide quality training.
  • YES, studies in Spain are expensive because access for French students is possible in private universities (under the control of the Spanish state!).
  • NO, students are not daddy's boys and girls, more than 80% of the students we accompany take out a bank loan because no significant grant is guaranteed (even less before registration!).
  • YES, it is necessary to speak Spanish to study (and live and integrate too!) in Spain.
  • NO, the courses offered in French are not a gift to French students. First of all, they are more expensive than the others, their logic is purely commercial and it is to postpone the leveling in Spanish language to a period when the student will have a lot of work while he will need to communicate in Spanish from the first days of the course (administrative staff, bus drivers, baker, owner!).
  • YES, the institutions that are authorized by the Spanish state to bear the name of university issue state diplomas on regulated professions (dental, podiatry, architecture, etc...).
  • NO European diplomas do not exist in health sciences (you can be very competent even with a Spanish diploma!).
  • YES, it is necessary to work regularly and seriously in order to succeed in a health science program in Spain and it is necessary to make these efforts in a foreign language.
  • NO it is not easier because there is no competition (you just work to learn your job and not against others!).
  • YES the number of places is limited in Spain on health science courses (it is even the Spanish state that decides the number of places allocated to each university on each regulated course...

We could go on for hours re-establishing truths...let's just end with these:

  • NO, not all health science professionals trained in Spain will be good (they are all good in France? ...ah well, strange, we hadn't noticed and you?)
  • YES, a professional in the health sciences can be excellent if he or she has been trained in Spain (in France as well, and we noticed it, you too?)

See you soon!
