What are the admission processes for studying medicine in Spain?

The medical curriculum in Spain is the most difficult to access in private universities and even more difficult in public universities.

Admission process for applying to medical school atUAX :

  • Date of the entrance exams: Saturday, June 08, 2019
  • Deadline to give the credencial: July 19, 2019
  • Results date: July 31, 2019
  • Admission criteria taken into account: 1st and 12th grade grades (40%) + Psychotechnical test (7%) + Spanish test (8%) + Biology and chemistry test (45%)
  • Possible access to a year of preparation, taught in Spanish, which will be offered by the UAX, to non-admitted students, depending on their rank on the waiting list
  • Registration for UAX Medical Application Tests : Schedule

Admission process for applying to medical school atEMU:

  • Entrance exam dates: April 13, May 11 and June 22, 2019. The candidate cannot choose their date, upon registration, the application will assign the earliest exam date.
  • Results date: June 05, 2019 (June 26, 2019 for candidates taking the tests on June 22, 2019).
  • Admission criteria taken into account: 1st and 12th grade grades (90%) + Spanish test (5%) eliminatory if the level obtained is lower than B2.2 + English test (5%). A psycho-technical test (to be done online before taking the other tests on site) is also mandatory.

Admission process for applying to medical school atUFV:

  • Entrance exam dates: April 25, May 11, May 13 and May 22, 2019. The last dates may be cancelled if the course is full.
  • Deadline to register for the entrance tests is May 17, 2019.
  • Results dates: June 12, 2019
  • Admission criteria taken into account: 1st and 12th grade grades (75%) + Psychotechnical test (20%) + Spanish test (5%) eliminatory if the level obtained is lower than B2 + English test. An interview may also be required if there are doubts about an application.
  • UFV Medical Application Test Registration : Schedule

Admission process to apply for medical studies at CEU San Pablo:

  • Entrance exam date: May 18, 2019
  • Deadline to give the credencial: June 30, 2019
  • Admission criteria considered: Credential scores + General skills test + Spanish test eliminatory if the level obtained is below B2 + English test + Biology test (40 questions) and chemistry test (30 questions)
  • Registration for the CEU San Pablo's medical school application tests

In order to have a possibility of accessing these studies in one of these universities, it is necessary to have obtained the baccalaureate with honors, to have a perfect command of the Spanish language in order to have a chance of passing the entrance exams as well as the Spanish students who apply.
