FEEDUC brings you the latest information

on universities in Madrid and Valladolid.

Back from a week of visits to our partner universities in Madrid, but also to new schools, we give you a summary of the things to remember for those who want to study dentistry, physiotherapy, audiology, veterinary... in Spain, but also architecture, business, video games or animation.

Here, university by university, is the information to remember:

Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes (Valladolid)

This is probably the university where the changes in the admission process are the most important for French students. You will need to demonstrate a B1 level of Spanish, after which you will be asked to submit your available grades. You will then get a quick response to reserve a place. Students may take the test more than once.

When are the tests held? There will be 2 or 3 sessions per year: one in February and another in June and perhaps a last one in September (subject to the availability of places). The dates are to be confirmed, we will let you know as soon as they are definitively fixed.

What happens if I don't have a B1 level of Spanish? If you obtain an A2 level, you will be offered conditional admission subject to passing the final exam following a mandatory Spanish course in September 2018. If you obtain a level lower than A2 your application will not be accepted and you will have to prepare for a year in Spanish and reapply the following year.

The decision of admission will be given as soon as the result of the test is known and you will be able to reserve your place from that moment on, provided that you meet the legal requirements (baccalaureate validated by the credencial).

The February tests will take place during an open house during the February vacations.

Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio

- Admissions to dental, veterinary and medical schools will certainly be selective, based on the criteria already taken into account for 2017-2018. Students registered with FEEDUC can consult the entry processes for these courses at this link.

- The recommended level of Spanish is B1, but don't sit back and wait for the preparation course in September! Be prepared !

- Students who are not admitted directly will be placed on the waiting list and will be able to reserve a place in the preparatory year without losing their chance to enter the desired program if their file is called on the waiting list.

A special open house for our students will certainly be proposed in February. Stay tuned to our news so that you can register.

Universidad Europea de Madrid

In 2018, EMU will not consider any applications outside of the official times for enrollment processes. They plan to open these processes in January/February but this may change so watch for our news

If you still want to send us your file in advance in order to anticipate the opening of the process, you can download it on the section corresponding to the EMU on this link. But there is no point in running! Your grades will determine your entry, not the order of arrival of the applications. Those who tell you otherwise are not the best advisors.

Indeed, the admissions processes that are being developed will undoubtedly include, as they did last year, a selection based on grades and language level, both in dental and physical therapy.

In physical therapy in Spanish the B2.2 level of Spanish will be required.

In English dentistry, a B2 level of English is required.

And even if you study physical therapy in French, learn Spanish. The B2.2 level is required 10 months later.

In Spanish dentistry, the level of Spanish will also be looked at carefully and the best levels of Spanish will be selected.

In short, learn Spanish ! It will make a difference.

For all programs, students will be required to complete online tests (English and Spanish) and a general skills test. They will also be required to complete an interview, and traveling to campus to do so will be greatly appreciated.

We will update you on the progress of the admissions process and timelines as soon as we know about them on our Facebook page and website.

U-TAD University

This is one of the novelties of this year 2018. This Madrid-based university specializing in the digital world was created by professionals from the video game industry (Commando, for those who know, that's them!) and animation (creators of the film Planet 51) to meet the need for skilled labor that they could not find.

Located in the heart of one of the two largest animation production studios in Europe (Illion), U-TAD is the reference university in Spain and Europe for training in video games, animation and the digital world.

So yes, you have to speak Spanish, but the effort is worth it! The best animation studios are snatching up the rare gems coming out of U-TAD, as are the big players in the video game industry.

You will soon find the details of the admission process on the page dedicated to this university on our site. If this sector interests you or someone you know, think about it! Studying at U-TAD means choosing a school that has been designed by professionals who are always active and know what the sector needs. And it's choosing an international career!

We will inform you of the dates of the open days very soon.

CEU San Pablo University

We keep telling you this, but Spanish will once again be a determining factor in your entry to this university. A B2 level will be required.

A visit can be made in February during an open house. We remind you that there are excellent programs at this university, especially in architecture !

The admission process will be online. However, a visit is still necessary to make sure that the university is what you are looking for.

Universidad Francisco de Vitoria

At UFV, what level of Spanish will you be required to have? A B2 level. You will need to provide an official certificate, such as the DELE or SIELE.

The admissions process will begin in February with an open day reserved for FEEDUC students. Thereafter, tests will be held on alternate Friday afternoons. A calendar will be available in early 2018.

And of course, your notes will be closely watched as well.

But studying on a modern campus with brand new physical therapy facilities (opened in January 2017) is worth the effort! This is the only campus with a physical therapy clinic integrated into the campus and a balneotherapy center.

ESIC Business & Marketing School

We end with the new for 2018 in Business. ESIC has copied the French business school model and is in fact the oldest Spanish business school: 50 years!

You can study business but also marketing where they are clearly the best in Spain and among the best in Europe with a network of alumni that would make many French business schools envious.

What is the admission process? A minimum level of Spanish B2, a case study (also in Spanish!) and an English test (not eliminatory). You will also need to provide your grades and complete a motivational interview in Spanish.

Being part of the students who can choose their employer at the end of their studies, that's something to be earned! Choose a different path and study business in Spain at ESIC!
