If there is a ranking that Spaniards consult regarding universities, it is the one published by the newspaper "El Mundo".
The 2019 version, 19th edition of this ranking, has just been released. It was therefore important, as every year, to devote an article of this blog to the theme of rankings in general and to focus on this one.
This ranking:
- offers a list of the 50 most popular courses of study for Spanish students,
- distinguishes the 5 best universities for studies in Spain,
- is very popular in Spain,
- takes into account 25 criteria, the opinion of 2000 professors as well as the results of other studies (international rankings, ANECA report, etc...),
- aims to showcase the best of Spanish universities, in relation to and for Spanish students.
Once again, some of FEEDUC's partner universities stand out from the crowd.
1. In alphabetical order by type of study, which FEEDUC partner universities are the 2019 winners of the "El Mundo" ranking?
For biotechnology studies,
UFV (Universidad Francisco de Vitoria),
located in Pozuelo on the outskirts of Madrid, is the 5th largest university in Spain.
For the dental studies in Spain, it is once again
UAX (Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio,
located in the town of Villanueva de la Cañada, near Madrid, which is ranked as the 3rd best university in Spain.

For Journalism studies in Spain
CEU San Pablo,
located in the urbanization Monteprincipe in the outskirts of Madrid, is number two university in Spain.

located in Villaviciosa de Odon, on the outskirts of Madrid, is still in 2nd place.

2. A ranking, the only reference?
Can and should this "el Mundo" ranking of the best universities in Spain be your only reference when choosing a university in Spain?
If the studies you want to do in Spain are not listed or if the university you have chosen is not in the 2019 ranking, don't worry.
This ranking is one of the parameters taken into account by FEEDUC when selecting its partner universities in Spain, but it is not the only one.
For FEEDUC, selecting a university in Spain goes even further than this ranking, which is certainly useful, but not in isolation.
It is also important to look at the following points:
- Adaptation to the needs of French students
- Evolution of methods and practices
- Geographic location
- Rates
- Admission requirements
- Feedback from students and administrative staff
- Feedback from industry professionals in France and Spain
- Etc...
3. What about public universities?
Why doesn't FEEDUC offer support for public universities, especially the best ones in the 2019 "El Mundo" ranking?
Our business model of funding through our selected universities does not allow us to act as an intermediary between students and public universities.
We will still be able to :
- give you general information about the studies you wish to carry out in Spain,
- help you navigate the different entrance requirements so that you know if you have the opportunity to enter a public university that interests you,
