Are you planning to study at a university in Spain from September 2022?

FEEDUC

In order to carry out this project of joining a university in Spain, we are going to present you the chronology of the steps that you will implement.

  • The choice of the training

A study project in Spain, if it comes to fruition, will change your life and will require you to make efforts and give up!

Therefore, before you embark on higher education in Spain, you should determine which profession you want to pursue, or better yet, know which profession you will thrive in, and which profession you are cut out for.

For some, accessing the desired profession will require training in the field of health(physiotherapy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, hearing aid, pharmacy, nursing or podiatry ...), for others it will be architecture, a business school (marketing, business, finance, management ...), a training in the artistic field , digital (with the creation of video games and cartoons), design (of spaces, objects, in the field of fashion, photography, etc...), tourism , engineering, others finally will be made for the translation-interpreting.

Don'tskip a thorough work on this subject, it is the basis of your project but also of your future professional life (which will inevitably take a lot of place in your life "all short"!). Get help from professionals.

If needed, we can recommend you some.

  • What is the budget for a study abroad project in Spain and how to finance it?

Studying abroad, even in Spain, will force you to take into account the financial criterion.

Indeed, social assistance is not the same in France and outside France. The cost of living (accommodation, food, transportation, etc.) will not be the same either, but above all, you will have to finance the cost of your future university. Private universities in Spain are expensive (sometimes very expensive), the public universities themselves (if you have a good enough record to get in...) are much more expensive than in France and the scholarships (when they are available) are low.

In our experience, there is nothing worse, nothing more violent for a student than to be forced to abandon his studies, in the course of his studies, because of a lack of anticipation of his financing. Giving up on a project because of a lack of funding is very difficult, giving it up during your studies because you can't pay for it all the way is really violent. Plan your budget and secure your financing before starting an admission process to study in Spain!

  • The level of Spanish: Is it sufficient? How can it be improved? Where can I get a certification recognized by the universities in Spain?

Maybe you already speak a little Spanish, maybe not at all...maybe you think you have a good or very good level, written or oral ....

If you are currently in high school or already a student, we suggest you take a test : In a science class or a math class or whatever, imagine that the teacher is going to speak only in Spanish for the whole class. Are you ready for that? Will you be able to interact with him/her only in Spanish? Do you really have the level?

... we agree, for most candidates to study in Spain, you will have to really work at it and not only during your Spanish classes, which is the minimum, but also by personal efforts to really progress and have the level to apply (B1 or B2 according to the courses envisaged and the universities).

Ideally, before January, you should have an official certification of your Spanish level (B1 can be enough, B2 is really better) and these 2 levels have nothing to do with a high school level, some "bachibac" students don't even have them when they take the tests to obtain an official certification. You will certainly have to work harder to obtain these certifications but with motivation, nothing is impossible.

You can count on FEEDUC's energy to make you aware of this point and to give you the best advice, information and contacts for Spanish.

You will have to work on objective criteria: your level of Spanish and your academic record, the financial investment you can make for your project.

For example, there is no point in applying to a university that requires an officially certified B2 level of Spanish if you have a B1 level. Your goal in this case will be to pre-screen universities that recruit at B1 level Spanish or to make the necessary efforts in Spanish to apply and be admitted to the university when you reach the level they require.

For example, if you want to enter a public university with a traditional entrance grade of 10/10 or higher (10-point average in the Spanish system) and your averages are around 10/20, don't waste time applying, but rather focus on finding universities that recruit around 5/10 to have a chance of being admitted.

Once you have built a list of "possible" universities, you can refine your criteria and applyto the universities that suit you and to which you are likely to be admitted.

You can find a list of private universities and information about our accompaniment services to public universities on our website https://www.feeduc.eu/universites/.

You have time for this, some admission processes open in January but there are places from March to June in private universities (variable depending on the program) and the admission procedures of public universities will only open in June.

From the registration itself, once the student receives a positive answer of admission, to the request of a resident card, you will have to find a place to live, open a bank account, think about your health insurance, have your baccalaureate validated...

If you have been orderly, organized and if you follow our advice and contacts, then you will have experienced the most serene preparation possible for your study project in Spain.

And then it's back to school!
